jupiter in pisces: an intangible spiritual journey
This won’t be a very long article. It will contain the basics about Jupiter’s transit through Pisces, and what can it signify in our lives so that we can use this in practical ways and prepare ourselves for this amazing journey of deep emotional and spiritual self discovery.
Jupiter will be transiting through Pisces from the 29th of December 2021, until around the 11th of May when he will enter in Aries (giving us a dynamic “tease” of what will come in 2023), turn retrograde, go back into Pisces around the 28th of October (to make us end some “unfinished affairs”), turn direct, and leave Pisces around the 20th of December 2022, diving fully into Aries for 2023.
Jupiter in Pisces, however, signifies a very deep and shaky journey of self-discovery, in most cases of the spiritual kind.
Jupiter traditionally rules the signs of Pisces and Sagittarius (the latter being more associated with Jupiter’s expansive and optimistic qualities). Nevertheless, while he transits Pisces he is also at his best faculties for “promoting” particular experiences leading to growth, discovery and wisdom. We should not be surprised that by the end of December 2022, we will never look at life the same way, but with a noticeable wiser heart and a stronger spirit.
Pisces is mutable and swirling water. Water signifies emotions, feelings, intangible and indescribable things.
So while this journey will certainly bring great things, deep awakenings, compassion, creativity, new ways of understanding life, going with the flow without much resistance, and a more grounded spirit, we should not be fooled to think all of this just comes magically out of nowhere.
Emotional experiences can be strong water currents. With this on mind, we can expect certain challenging situations moving our feelings and unleashing deep emotions. Situations which can leave us confused, overwhelmed, and unable to know what’s the next step.
For some, specially those with tense natal Pisces placements, there can be a sense of chaos in life, the inability to look at the future with optimistic eyes, and int the worst case scenario the loss of any purpose or meaning. It can be extremely hard for some people to to deal or manage these strong emotional waves.
For some others, those with balanced, harmonious or neutral Pisces placements, it can all be a lot smoother, and while there can be challenging experiences, these will be lighter in intensity.
People already involved in spiritual practises, or going through their spiritual paths, will experience heightened moments of “enlightenment” or new levels of understanding about their own spiritual journeys.
On a different note, a desire to escape reality, through whatever “route”, can also be prominent during this time, especially between April and early May (Jupiter conjoins Neptune in April, and enters in Aries in May).
People use different ways to escape reality, either through substances, work, hobbies or any other activity that “blocks” our mind in some way. While some routes of escape can be considered acceptable, escaping reality is never the solution. Facing it, is. And if we avoid confronting something, we will definitely be pushed to do so when Jupiter goes back into Pisces by the end of October (and when he gets close to Neptune for a second time).
JUPITER IN ARIES: A PRELUDE FOR 2023
Now, it is worth to mention that when Jupiter enters in Aries for a short time (May-October), there might be a dynamic change in our energy output, an accelerated pace of assertiveness and action (to the point that we have to watch out, specially around late May, when he conjoins Mars in Aries: really volatile days). Then between July and August there can be a lot of creative momentum, as well as the emergence of opportunities.
GOING BACK TO PISCES
But by late October, Jupiter takes us back into Pisces, to end some things we left unfinished, some subjects we avoided, or to face some new situations which will have a last impact in this intangible journey of Jupiter in Pisces: personal discovery beyond our scope.
JUPITER IS A TRULY BENEFICIAL PLANET
In any case, Jupiter is a truly beneficial planet, and whatever challenges might come, they will certainly provide a stronger beneficial outcome. Whatever Jupiter touches, even if we are talking about an “unhappy malefic planet”, Jupiter will bring the best out of it, unlocking its greatest potential to help you grow and overcome those challenges, and be better equipped for the future.
And Pisces is a fascinating sign.
Compassion, both with others and with ourselves, is something we will learn more about during this time. A lot of us know the meaning of that word, but many have not come into direct contact with what compassion truly is and how pure it can be.
Intuition, meaningful dreams and “getting a feeling”, are also relevant subjects during this time. Jupiter in Pisces amplifies these abilities, getting us more in touch with our “gut feelings” and expanding our capacity to trust, or not, certain things or people.
But self-deceit is also possible and we have to learn how to discern between what is true and what is not. Between ‘too-big-dreams’, and ‘great-and-attainable’ dreams.
Jupiter in Pisces also implies subtleties, allowing wonderful creative flows. Sensibility leads to creativity. Emotions can be represented by art and creative outputs. We learn to integrate our emotions through our own unique artistic ways. So, in terms of creativity, this journey can be very promising.
CLEAR WATERS
And yes, after a storm comes a calm, and by the end of this period, we will certainly start seeing through clear waters. Imagine having a glass of water full of small particles, and you cannot see the other side of the glass through the water because it is cloudy. But eventually, the particles sediment in the bottom of the glass, and the water becomes clear. And then we can see through the other side of the glass, something completely new that wasn’t there before. This is exactly how it will be by the end of 2022. A brand new beginning.
To end this article, you want to pay attention at the house where Pisces falls on your natal chart, because this house, and all the other houses connected with it through planets in aspect, will indicate the areas of life where we will experience this special chapter of emotional, spiritual, and personal intangible growth.
